The Camborne Show

Updated: Dec 30, 2019

Hi everyone and welcome to latest updates from the studio.

So last Friday we packed up the car and headed back to The South West to beautiful Cornwall for the Camborne Show.

This year we had decided to do things a little differently by incorporating a bit of a camping into the trip which at the time seemed like a fun thing to do as neither of us at set foot in a tent since 2009.

As we left Leicestershire the rain began to fall and to be honest didn't really stop. By the time we passed through Bristol I can only really describe the conditions as a monsoon with flooding on the M5 and the traffic at a standstill..... not the most promising start to our adventure in the South West!

By early evening we had finally made it to the showground and with the rain still falling and very few options for nearby hotels we were left with a bit of a predicament. Luckily for us the amazing organizers came to our rescue and allowed us to set up camp for the night in the marquee which was very much appreciated and actually really good fun (though a little noisy at times with the wind coming in off the Atlantic and the cockerel next door delivering an early morning wake up call on multiple occasions).

Despite the previous days weather and a rough nights sleep we woke up to a beautiful morning and with the sky clearing the sun arrived just in time for the show opening resulting in a beautiful warm day and a large number of visitors attending. Though takings were down on the previous year we still could not complain at the level of sales and once again the lovely feedback and compliments were very much appreciated.

With plenty to see and do, great weather a ready supply of pasty's and a friendly atmosphere we had a brilliant day and look forward to returning again in the near future.

With the show behind us we carried on to have a lovely few days touring west Cornwall before returning home with some great memories and a pile of washing :0)
